EPOS ADAPT E1 – True Wireless Earbuds with Danish Design and Perfection
In today’s hybrid work world, the line between work and leisure blurs—and your audio gear needs to keep up. Today, EPOS has launched ADAPT E1 True Wireless In-Ear Buds, a versatile pair designed to excel in productivity, such as joining Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex or Google Meet Meetings, and personal use cases. After testing these sleek earbuds for 2 weeks, here’s why they might be your following daily drivers.

Connectivity: Seamless Multi-Device Mastery
The ADAPT E1 shines with multi-point pairing, connecting to two devices simultaneously (e.g., laptop + smartphone) while remembering up to 10 paired gadgets. But what truly sets them apart is the USB-C BTD 900c dongle. This tiny powerhouse delivers a rock-solid wireless connection up to 20 meters from your computer—perfect for pacing during calls or grabbing coffee mid-meeting. No more Bluetooth dropouts! In the past, this dongle was mandatory to get headsets certified for Microsoft Teams, this is not needed anymore but still helpful when Bluetooth connection is flaky or forbidden (e.g. in defense).
Audio Performance: ANC, Ambience, and Acoustic Guardrails
Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) filters distractions like or office or street noise, while the Ambient Mode lets you stay aware of your surroundings (ideal for commuting). The semi-open acoustic design avoids that “plugged ear” feeling, making them comfortable for marathon sessions. I used ADAPT E1 on my flight to Microsoft MVP Summit Redmond (Seattle) and enjoy times of silence, music and watching movies. ANC is one of the best I have tested so far.

Sound quality? Crisp and balanced, thanks to AAC/SBC codecs. Wider sound stage than expected (e.g. Prince-“Sign o’the times”, Fleetwood Mac “Dreams”, “Bubbles” by Yosi Horikawa or Michael Jackson “Thriller”). But EPOS goes further with hearing protection:
– ActiveGard™: Blocks sudden audio spikes (no more jump-scares from loud notifications).
– EU Noise-Limiter®: Caps average volume at 85 dB over 8 hours, protecting your ears during long workdays.
User Experience: Smart, Swift, and Solo-Ready
– Solo Mode: Use one earbud while the other charges—outstanding for all-day calls.
– Rapid Charging: 5 minutes in the case = 1 hour of playtime. Full charge? Up to 14 hours (ANC off) or 50 hours with the sleek, pocket-friendly case.
– Wireless Charging: Compatible with any Qi charger.
– In-Ear Detection with sensors: Music pauses when you remove a bud, resumes when reinserted.
– Android Integration: Google Fast Pair ensures instant setup. iPhone users aren’t left out—they’re “Made for iPhone” certified.
Design & Comfort: Engineered for Endurance
The IntelligentFit™ ear adapters come in XS/S/M/L sizes, combining soft silicone comfort with a secure seal. An IPX5 rating means they’ll survive sweat, rain, or coffee spills. Certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Cisco Webex, they’re a remote worker’s dream—crystal-clear mics included.

Microphones: EPOS ADAPT E1 is leading with crystal clear voice quality
EPOS ADAPT E1 is leading with its crystal clear microphone quality; they have impressed me so far. Nevertheless, I need to highlight that some competitors are including AI-powered Background Noise Cancelation, which I don’t really miss because I am using Noise Suppression within Microsoft Teams. Now you could say: double is better! No, we have seen cases where AI background noise canceling hardware side is fighting with Teams noise suppression- not for a better result.
Easy to use Touch Controls
The right earbud features a multifunctional control button with various press patterns for call management, audio playback, and noise cancellation toggling. The left earbud includes dedicated Microsoft Teams controls allowing users to join meetings, check notifications, and raise/lower their hand during calls. Both earbuds utilize simple, double, and long (2-second) press gestures to access different functions, creating an intuitive touch control system for managing calls and media playback.
Software & Longevity
Manage settings via EPOS Connect (firmware updates, personalized tweaks) or EPOS Manager for enterprise-level device control. With a 2-year warranty and robust build, these buds are built to last. EPOS Software does not offer fancy gimmicks, you can choose between few music presets, no EQ is available.

Final Verdict
Available in Scandinavian Black and Nordic White, the ADAPT E1 balances productivity smarts with audiophile-friendly touches. Whether you’re drowning out distractions, hopping between calls, or just vibing to music, EPOS delivers a polished, health-conscious experience.
Not recommended when you are searching for Gimmicks in Mobile Apps or you expect AI-reduced background noise cancelation. These are also not your 50 EUR In-Ear-Buds when you only care about the price and don’t expect Enterprise-grade quality and certifications.
