Review of Radio Tivoli Audio \”Model One Digital\”
I am a passionate user of Headphones and HiFi Systems but didnt`t have a chance to test a DAB Radio yet. So I was excited to get a review sample from Tivoli Audio from their Art Line called \”Model One Digital\”.
My device came in stylish wooden \”black ash\” color, \”walnut/grey\” and \”white/grey\” are also available.
It is not only a FM/ AM / DAB+Radio but also offers connection to your mobile device using Bluetooth, classic AUX output and WiFi Connectivity. I am Premium User of Spotify since first day, so one of my main daily use cases is to stream music and use Tivoli Audio as a loudspeaker. It can also be extended with other loudspeakers from Tivoli like the \”Orb\” Series which is positioned as an Art object like a painting or sculpture in your home.
Setup and Configuration Experience
I have connected Model One Digital with Power Cable and downloaded the Tivoli App on my Android and iOS Devices. Manual told me to press the Setup Button at the back of the devices what I did. Pairing with Bluetooth and Wireless LAN didn`t work for my first 10 attempts. I double checked the manual which I downloaded on the Tivoli Support Site. I found out that the large ring around the display has got a push button on the top which I needed to presh for pairing. After figuring this out, installation and also first firmware update went smoothly. Music Connection is stable but you need to expect to repeat mentioned configuration steps when unplugging the radio from Power, it doesn`t remember WiFi and Bluetooth Connections every time. Although there is no native App for Windows Phones, Spotify Connect works great on my Windows 10 Spotify Desktop Client. I start my Playlist on Windows10, shutdown Laptop and Tivoli continues with my playlist – very nice!
Sound Experience
When I do product review I like to observe my first intuitive impressions. And yes, I had a \”WOW!\” effect here. Sound is rich and powerful, I can also use Model One Digital to fill my larger living room with fine tunes. Please have a look at my video for further comments and audio impressions:
