Sennheiser MKE 200: new compact budget microphone for Vloggers and Video Geeks
Today Sennheiser has announed a new compact microphone called \”MKE 200\” which helps videographers to bring their moving images to life much more quickly and easily with high-quality sound. It can be used with a DSLR or mirrorless camera and easily with a SmartPhone- just using the 3.5mm Audio Jack.
MKE 200 is equipped with a directional capsule, which should ensures that the microphone automatically captures the sound from the direction in which it is being filmed and softens the remaining (background) sound. Windshield / Dead Cat is also part of the package. Maybe you have experienced noises when you touch your camera or microphone.
MKE 200`s Capsule is shock-absorbing which should handle these kind of noises and prevent that they are transmitted to the microphone.
Sennheiser MKE 200 comes with a windshield, two screwable connection cables for DSLRs or mirrorless cameras (3.5 mm TRS cable) and smartphones (3.5 mm TRRS cable) plus a storage bag. Batteries are not needed. You can order it now for 99 EUR here
In the past I was using Rode VideoMicro heavily, especially in our Church Video Live Streams and also here.
Let`s check out soon how the Sennheiser MK 200 compares with Rode`s budget video microphone which is around 50 EUR cheaper.
Will you buy it?
I have the Sennheiser MKE440 and I am mega happy with it. Especially the stereo during recording makes a real difference.
