Logitech isn`t new to Headphone market although my most used products are mice, keyboards, Webcams and Conference Camera Systems. In May they have launched a second Bluetooth Headset, Zone Wireless, (Amazon Affiliate) with a special focus on Business Users, Active Noise Canceling and Compatibility for Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, Cisco, Zoom and others.

Before I go deeper into specification and details, let me share my first intuitive impressions: After unboxing the free test sample (thank you, Logitech Germany!) for my unpaid blogpost I thought: Wow, that`s indeed a light-weight headset, that might be a good choice to wear on a full business day. Leather ear pads are comfortable and breathable, headband is silicone-padded. I was unfolding it and reduce it again to its shorter size to test charging which is possible with a Micro USB-cable and Qi-charging, I used my Samsung Power Bank, see here:

I have connected it to my Android Smartphone and iPad using Bluetooth and to my Windows 10 PC with Logitech (USB-A) Dongle (part of delivery). It can connect up to six other Logitech Unifying™ wireless products. Connection should work up to 10 m (33 ft) away from mice and keyboards, and up to 30 m (100 ft) away from the headset which is impressive. In my test I could walk downstairs and leave my home office, continue calls in my living room.

Microphone Quality

I have created two voice samples for you: First one is recorded on my PC, directly taken from Microphone (boomarm) and second is a Microsoft Teams Conference Call recording. Lot of headsets don`t offer a boomarm anymore, all microphones are included within the ears. Personally I am convinced that speech quality is better with less background noise which is very relevant for me, less annoying for my phone partners. I am using headsets a lot in public areas like train stations, airports and swimming pools. Boomarm can be moved back to the headband in case you just want to listen and automatically muting starts. As you can hear in my 3rd voice sample I am convinced about reduction of background noise. Voice quality could be clearer but that might be an issue of my Android Voice Recording App.

Mobile App “Logi Tune”

Logi Tune Apps helps to update firmware, tune equalizer, set sidetone and and enable noise cancellation, read battery status and set mic on mute. Mute and noise cancellation can also be changed with dedicated buttons. SideTone feature is helpful because I can hear my voice clearer and louder in calls. That might create a better feeling with Active Noise Cancelling Headphones where I always had the impressions that talking is somehow uncomfortable.

Summary

I have reviewed a lot of headsets in the past with different use cases: audiophile HiFi Music experience, phone calls on the road, Home Office Conference Calls, Sport activities and much more. This headset is not used for sports, it`s also not my main headset if I want to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening and listen to music only. It also won`t beat leaders like Sony WH-1000XM3 or Bose NC700 regarding Active Noise Cancelling. But Logitech Zone Wireless doesn`t overpromise: it is an excellent Business Headset for everyday use in Conference Calls with Microsoft Teams, Cisco, Skype for Business, Zoom, very comfortable and light-weight. I really like the on-ear-form factor much more than over-ear for a whole business day. Microphone quality is better than much others on the market because of its boomarm which reduces background noise. At the end you enjoy a higher quality of phone calls, can listen to music or podcasts, reduce background noise and that what is all about for my business day.
